Debut awards announced at WIFW

New Delhi, April 10 (IANS) Tanya Narula and two others from the Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF) were Sunday declared the first three winners of the Wills Lifestyle Debut Awards at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW).

First placed Tanya Narula beat 300 participants from leading design colleges and impressed judges with her all-white collection embellished with gold and laser cuts.

“Debut is a great platform for all aspiring designers. It is an incredible, thrilling and top-of-this-world experience for me,” Tanya said.

“I am really thankful to Pearl for enabling me to be part of such a wonderful platform. It was a mind-blowing moment that will be forever etched in my memory,” she said.

Shashank Bhushan Singh from Pearl Academy of Fashion shared the second place with a designer from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore, while Pratyush Maurya from Pearl Academy of Fashion stood third.

Pearl Academy of Fashion group director A.K.G. Nair said: “We are extremely pleased and gratified that out of the 14 finalists from leading fashion design institutes across India, eight students were from Pearl Academy of Fashion.”

“Seeing our students win the top three awards was a very proud moment for all of us and is testament of the creativity and hard work of our students and faculty,” he added.
