New Delhi, Aug 5 (IANS) International footwear brand Crocs is planning to start a manufacturing unit in India by the end of this year to bring down the prices of its products and reach out to more people.
The US-based company has been importing all its products from China, which makes its products expensive.

“Crocs has been a popular footwear brand among children, but we want everyone to love it. Also, people feel it is an expensive brand. So now with the manufacturing unit in India, we can reach out to more consumers and make it a mass brand compared to the premier tag it has,” Murali Desingh, Crocs India managing director, told IANS.

Crocs started its India operations in mid-2007 and now has a pan India presence at the wholesale market. It has eight concept stores in Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Kolkata, Pune, Goa and Bangalore.

All Crocs footwear are made of “proprietary closed-cell resin” which makes them soft, comfortable, lightweight, superior-gripping and odour-resistant shoes.

Crocs recently launched its spring/summer 2011 collection which comprises uber chic designs in vibrant colours.
