Oct. 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Magic Johnson has been famous all his life being a professional American ‘basketball-er’. Now, its turn for his wife, Cookie Anderson to get famous. Cookie Anderson appeared on the very famous, very popular Oprah Winfrey’s show, showcasing her line of ‘jeans’. These jeans, known as CJ are meant for women who have curves. They cost around $150-$200 and are made of common denim. These jeans are available in sizes from 24-28. They can be found at popular stores like Nordstrom’s, Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus.
Cookie herself is pretty business savvy. In respect to her jeans she says, “I couldn’t find jeans to fit my body type. It frustrated me to try on every pair in the store and leave with nothing.” On the Oprah show she further added, “I said: ‘You know what, it’s not me. It’s the industry. I said: ‘That’s it. I’m going to create a hot jean for us girls with curves so we can look just as good as that little skinny girl out there.’”
Not just CJ but Oprah seems to like her jeans as well. She says CJ are her fave pair of jeans and are the finest available pair of jeans for women with ‘real bootie’. “For three days straight, I had on the jeans. They are hard-core pajama girl”. According to Cookie, she devised these jeans for women who have a “fit but curvy” figure just like she does. Cookie did not wait for her size of jeans to be introduced in the market. Instead, as soon as she realized that there are more women like her, having the same problem, she went ahead and introduced her special line of jeans.

These models are NOT size 24-28. If they can’t show them on the size of lady they are designed for, what good are they doing for the heavier lady. You can’t even imagine what they would look like on your body. Also, I can’t afford $150-$200 for a “common denim” jean. Sorry, I don’t have the kind of money that Oprah has.

I agree with Jeanie. These models don’t even “say” size twelve much less size 24-28.
and what ordinary hard working woman today can afford to buy a pair of jeans for $150?
Come on Oprah!

Wow, 150-200 dollar jeans!!! Made from common denim that I can get at Hobby Lobby…and make my own tailored jeans. Yeah, ok…
Jeanie, I have to agree with you on the models. Ever notice how with brand name clothes that are meant for the “curvy” woman they always have size 3 models wearig the clothes…it’s like hello. Ask normal women like who are short and cury to model some jeans…or regular women like me.Period. I wont be buying Cookie’s Jeans.

Once again, a black savvy business person is coming out with something for the “curvy common black woman”. Please, my curves are not common and I do not have $150.00 to put in thier pockets.I look great in the Avenue $30.00 pair of jeans that “fit” my curves!!
