Chat-up lines are the way to a woman’s heart
August 27th, 2010 - 12:55 pm ICT by ANILondon, Aug 27 (ANI): A woman might roll her eyes at a chat-up line like, ‘Did it hurt when you fell out of heaven?’ but she is secretly pleased about it, says a new UK survey.
According to the poll, a staggering 59 percent of women believe that using corny pick-up lines shows that a man has got a great sense of humour, while another 58 per cent believe it proves he’s confident.
Another 64 per cent say they would happily go out with a man who was attractive if he used a naff one-liner on them - with ‘Apart from being beautiful, what do you do for a living?’ and ‘Shall we talk or continue flirting from a distance?’ proving particularly popular.
“For years, chat-up lines have been seen as desperate and something only a brave few men would dare to try,” The Daily Mail quoted Kat McClure, UK manager of online casino MrGreen.com, which carried out the research, as saying.
“But it seems that they could actually be the best way to a woman’s heart. Women like a guy with a good sense of humour, and a good chat-up line can be a great way of displaying that men have one,” she added.
And it’s not just the women who seem to like cheesy lines - one in five men believes that a classic chat-up line is the best way to break the ice.
Four in ten admit they deliver a corny line on a regular basis to try to get a date with a girl, and more than eight per cent think they would have more success with the ladies if they used chat-up lines more often.
Some other chat up lines:
1. Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?
2. Apart from being beautiful, what do you do for a living?
3. Nice dress, it’d look good on my bedroom floor.
4. I miss my teddy bear. Would you sleep with me?
5. There must be something wrong with my eyes, I can’t take them off you.
6. I suffer from amnesia. Do I come here often? (ANI)
