California Hotel Tops The Dirtiest Hotel List

June 5, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): A list of the dirtiest hotels in America has been announced by a travel website. The website, TripAdvisor.com declared Heritage Marina Hotel of San Francisco, California, the dirtiest in the country.

Two other hotels from California made it to the list. Capistrano Seaside Inn on the Pacific Coast Highway in Capistrano Beach got the 8th rank while Desert Lodge in Palm Springs was ranked 9th.

If California had three of its hotels on the list, Virginia was not far behind with two of its hotels making it to the list.

Tropicana Resort Hotel, Virginia Beach was ranked third. It was described by a customer as dirty, filthy, smelly and noisy. A woman, who stayed with her husband there, referred to it as ‘The cat pee Hotel,’ saying that there was awful smell of cat urine in the hotel.

Another hotel of Virginia which has graced the dreadful list is Super 8 Virginia Beach /At the Ocean. According to travelers, the rooms of this hotel are infested with bugs. A customer said that the roaches were unbearable and he wondered about how the management of the hotel failed to do anything about it.

New York Inn, the only hotel from New York was ranked 6th on the list.The website’s rating of the hotels were based on the feedback given by the user, which included pictures of the rooms.
