London, June 21 (IANS) French model Tom Nicon, the face of British luxury fashion brand Burberry, reportedly jumped 40 feet to his death from his apartment window in Milan after splitting from his girlfriend. He was 22.
Nicon, who campaigned for brands like Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss and Versace, was found dead Friday just hours before the start of Milan’s Men’s Fashion Week.

Designer Donatella Versace says she met him just few hours before his death and he was behaving normally.

“Tom was with us on Friday morning for a final show fitting. He seemed fine and calm. He had already done three or four shows with us and he was a sweet boy,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Donatella as saying.

“We just can’t understand why he did what he did. We would never have thought he would do something like this.”

Though organisers went ahead with Milan Fashion Week, they plan to pay a tribute to Nicon.

Police said they are treating Nicon’s death as suicide.

“We have spoken to the friends he was staying with and they have told us that he had recently broken up with his girlfriend and was depressed,” said a source.
