Britons more loyal to banks than spouses
August 21st, 2010 - 1:26 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Aug 21 (IANS) Britons are more faithful to their banks than to their partners, a survey has found.
The average length of the country’s relationship is 14 years while Britons spend nearly 16.5 years with the same bank, said the survey carried out for Santander Current Accounts.
One in five respondents even trusted their savings with the same bank for more than 30 years, the Daily Express reported Saturday.
Also, over half of British adults were loyal to their bank for over a decade while barely seven percent swapped their account provider more than three times in the last 10 years.
Customers in the southeast of the country were the most faithful as they lasted 17.7 years on an average with the same bank, according to the poll of 2,000 Britons.
