London, Nov 26 (IANS) While opening a woman’s purse could be viewed as an uncivilised conduct for a man, a survey of the British women’s handbags has revealed one can expect rotten fish to sex toys beside other essentials in them.

A quarter of the British women carry around spare garments while two percent of bags have secret sex toys in them, the Daily Mail quoted a survey as revealing.

Interestingly, most of them have no idea what else is hidden away, as 68 percent of women never empty out their handbags, says the survey of British women, conducted on behalf of online accessories retailer AnjliLondon.com.

The survey which found most of the British women carrying around the usual suspects: make-up, a mobile phone and a purse, also revealed 80 percent of the women carrying the essentials as well as keys, a hair brush, tissues, painkillers, a mirror and an umbrella.

Two percent of the women said that they carried leftover food, with one woman even admitting to have found a rotten fish at the bottom of her bag.

Twenty seven percent of the women carry hair straighteners with them at all times while four percent fill our bags with ‘chicken fillet’ bust enhancers!

Of the 500 women queried, it was found that 68 percent never cleared out their handbag and were surprised at its content when asked to check.

They claimed the only time they tip out the contents were when they lose their keys, phone or purse or when they’ve bought a new bag!
