Brit women hoarding 124 million unwanted bras
March 24th, 2010 - 5:01 pm ICT by ANILondon, Mar 24 (ANI): A survey has revealed that British women own 124 million unwanted bras, that would be enough to stretch nearly three times around the world.
The survey, by market researchers www.OnePoll.com, which polled 3,000 women aged 18 to 65, revealed that the typical female owns 13 bras but only wears eight of them regularly.
At an average cost of about 28 pounds, that means 3.47billion pounds worth of bras never see the light of day.
“Most women have a bra for each outfit or occasion but many get condemned to life in a drawer,” the Daily Express quoted a spokeswoman as saying.
“Our study also found that most women still rely on plain black or white bras for everyday use,” she added.
The poll also revealed 42 per cent of women had never been properly measured for a bra - and many had no idea what their correct size was. (ANI)
