New Delhi, Sep 25 (IANS) Bed sheets, cushion covers of Barbie doll adorning your bed is a thing of the past. Lifestyle brand Portico has launched “Fashionista Barbie” that comes with the doll and her small bed.
The set comprises a single bed sheet and a matching pillow case along with “Fashionista Barbie” doll that has a doll’s play bed as well.

Portico has partnered with Mattel, the manufacturer of Barbie doll, to come up with a very special offering just in time for the upcoming festive season.

Besides, Portico also has a tie-up with Disney, Warner Bros and they will soon be launching an exclusive “Harry Potter” collection before the last movie of the series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, hits the screen.

These animated collections are targeted at the children and thanks to the growing incomes, parents are game to pamper their kids.

“We all know kids are huge fans of these popular animated characters — be it Tom and Jerry or Mickey — and then we saw that girls are so crazy about Barbie that thye would love to have her sleep next to them,” Pallavi Tibrewal, Portico’s head of marketing, told IANS.

“We are very much excited about our ‘Harry Potter’ collection as it will have some 3-D effects on the products. The most important thing here is that if kids are demanding such things, parents too are leaving no stone unturned to fulfill them,” she added.

Tibrewal also points out that the children sector is one of the growing markets in the industry and anything to do with kids definitely sells.

The brand is available in 200 shop-in-shops across India in retail-chains like Lifestyle, Westside, @Home, Home Town and Shopper’s Stop among others.
