Boy, 3, walks half-a-mile to buy sweets at 3am!
August 10th, 2008 - 7:02 pm ICT by ANILondon, Aug 10 (ANI): A three-year-old Brit boy walked a mile-and-a-half on his own to buy sweets at 3am.
Daring youngster Max McGrath had unlocked the front door of his home and sneaked out in the dead of night in just his pyjamas and his older brother’’s shoes.
However, the little boy could not hide his dismay at finding his favourite sweet shop shut.
He was spotted peering hopefully through a supermarket window by startled van driver James Brown.
“I approached him and asked what he was doing out so late, the Mirror quoted Brown, as saying.
“He told me in a very matter-of-fact way that his family were at home asleep and he was going to the shop,” he added.
James asked Max where he lived and drove him home.
However, he could not wake his parents and so called police, who gained entry to the house in Preston.
After getting her wandering youngster back, relieved mum Amy, 30, said: “The first my partner and I knew about it was being woken by a policeman at the bottom of the bed, which was a real shock.
“They said they had found my son but I had no idea he had gone anywhere. I”m still shaking from the shock.
“He’’s very adventurous but it’’s a complete surprise he would do something like this. I didn”t hear a thing when he left and it’’s terrifying to think what might have happened because he must have crossed several roads,” she added. (ANI)
