London, Feb 25 (IANS) Singer Beyonce has sparked controversy by donning dark black make-up for a magazine shoot. The singer was supposed to look like African royalty for French fashion magazine L’Officiel Paris, but the magazine was hit by complaints about the super black look, reports dailystar.co.uk.
“She was paying homage to African queen,” said a spokesperson from the magazine. “As you can see, her face was voluntarily darkened. The inspiration came from several African rituals during which paint is used on the face.”
