Noida, Jan 31 (IANS) Food items like salmon sticks, chicken sticks and fish rolls, health seminars and grooming tips - no, this is not any ordinary lifestyle expo but indicative of the wide variety of products and events at the ongoing third India International Pet Trade Fair (IIPTF) here. The three-day fair, which kicked off at the Expocentre Noida in this suburb of New Delhi Friday, has attracted 60 pet product companies.

From trendy accessories to health care products and from toys to food items, the fair has everything for you to pamper your pet.

Apart from grooming stalls, seminars on health and hygiene of pets and interactions with the veterinary doctors, there was also a performance by the well-trained canines of the Indian Air Force dog squad.

“The whole idea of this fair is to make people understand that keeping a pet in your house is a good thing but the most important thing is to take care of them and understand them, after all they can’t speak,” event director Binoy Sahee told IANS.

“Health and hygiene are the two most important factors one must always keep in his mind while dealing with pets and in this fair we also try to make people understand the kind of dogs they can keep in their family depending on the nature of their flats and houses,” he said.

Raghav Modi, CEO of petcare brand PetSEtGo, said it was the owner who made choices for his pet and it is important to establish a bond with your pet.

“Gone are the days when dogs used to guard your houses. Now with the trend of nuclear families, a pet is considered a part of the family so it becomes very important to understand what they are saying with their actions,” Modi added.

PetSetGo provides a designer range of collars, lashes, shampoos, dental care products and toys for pets and they have collaborated with reputed petcare brands like Karlie and Rogz to offer quality products.

R.R. Kumar, director of Taiyo pet products that deals with aquarium and fish products, said people often got pets home just for some fun.

“Keeping a pet is not an easy thing but still people will get one, play with it for few days and then ignore it but this ignorance acts as a wrath for fish because they can’t make any sound to show their anger or discomfort,” Kumar said.

“We are here to give people information about how to take care of their fish because they demand special attention unlike other pets,” he added.
