A Few Simple Tips and Ideas for Fall Decorating
October 29th, 2010 - 2:37 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonOct 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The chill is in the early morning air, and the leaves are turning their delicious shades of red hues and golden tones. With the scents of cinnamon and pumpkin spice in the air, many are ready to decorate their homes in celebration of the magnificent season of Autumn.
Some of the best ideas come from Mother Nature herself, such as the “Circle of Bounty” wheat and golden maple leaf wreath. After using wheat heads and floral wire to form a wreath, simply stick golden leaves into it at various spots to brighten and fill. As the leaves fade, simply replace them. This wreath can even be saved to use again next fall season.
A great idea for a Fall centerpiece is to take small pumpkins and gourds, and set them in a decorative platter on the table. Small baskets work well also. Add dried flowers, berry clusters, and colored leaves to brighten add more colors. These gourds and pumpkins can also be placed on shelves throughout the house for a pop of Autumn hue.
You can also hollow out small pumpkins and gourds to use as a vase for an Autumn flower arrangement. Sprigs, leaves, and fall flowers are used to fill it in. This makes a great centerpiece, or stand-alone decoration. Dried flowers and wheat heads may also be added.
Bowls of fruit and nuts are also a delicious decor, and can be enhanced by simply adding a candle to the center of the bowl. Green apples with a large light green candle is one example, or a bowl of nuts surrounding a golden one.
Whatever your taste, with imagination, and nature’s bounty, decoration can be a fun and simple way to bring in the season!
