34thstreetlightsDec 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) AMC aired the cult movie, “Miracle on 34th Street” at 8:00 p.m yesterday. However, it was probably Baltimore that faced the real miracle just before the Christmas, as the people became miraculously generous and kind, just before the festive season. It was a “Oh My DOG” situation for the BARCS, when a wacko thief attempted to steal a donation box that was reserved for dog charity in 34th Street of Baltimore. However, the thief was soon arrested and the money was recovered by the police, but sources said that it was the cooperation on the part of the people that marked the biggest miracle.

The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, was organizing a bake sell, in order to provide donation to the animal shelter, throughout the holiday season. However, according to their reports, a man all of a sudden came near the illuminated donation booth to ask one of the volunteers, whether the money collected was for the purpose of charity. When the volunteer nodded, the thief snatched the donation box and ran away within the wink of an eye. However, a stuff of the organization, Good Samaritan and a person standing nearby, witnessed the situation and made an attempt to chase him. The police arrived at the location on time and recovered the donation box from the thief and arrested him.

BARCS was extremely grateful to the neighbors, who immediately came for their help and offered a replacement of the money that the thief stole from them. BARCS staff person Kat Knauff said that it was like a real “outpour” of holiday spirit from the neighbors, who actually care about the well being of animals and their organization. The lively spirit on the street was no less than a miracle, said a source.
