New Delhi, Aug 18 (IBNS) Refusing corruption allegations against him, Assam governor Syed Sibtey Razi Tuesday said he won’t resign from his chair till the term ends.

“I won’t quit till my five-year-term gets over this October,” Razi told reporters Tuesday afternoon.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has reportedly asked Razi to submit his resignation after Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raid reports confirmed alleged corruption against him.

“Singh has asked Razi to quit from his chair on health grounds and save UPA government from embarrassment,” sources told Times Now on Tuesday.

However, Razi said: “All allegations against me are false.”

CBI raids affirmed reports of alleged corruption in the Jharkhand Raj Bhavan when Razi was Jharkhand governor. He has been accused of allowing his former associates- Rajesh Thakur and IAS officer Avinash Kumar, for committing financial fraud against funds allotted for 34th National Games to be held in Jharkhand.
