Zardari says Marriott hotel bombing was an assassination attempt on him

Washington , Oct 1 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said that he was supposed to be at the Marriott Hotel when it was attacked by a suicide bomber on September 20 in a truck laden with explosives, killing 60 people.

He said it was directly an attempt to kill him, and added that he and other top leaders narrowly escaped the assassination attempt.

All of us, all the parliament, the people, all of democracy was the target. We were all supposed to be there, The News quoted Zardari as saying in an interview on US television. (ANI)
