Youth held with arms in Mumbai
November 13th, 2009 - 12:08 pm ICT by ANIMumbai, Nov 13 (ANI): Close to the 26/11 terror attacks’ first anniversary, a youth was arrested here and arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession.
Acting on a tip-off, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the Mumbai police arrested 28-year-old Kailash Singh and seized 10 pistols, one carbine and 68 cartridges.
“Based on leads, we seized a bag from him. After checking the bag we recovered ten pistols and one carbine and 50 rounds of ammunition,” said K. P. Raghuvanshi, ATS chief, Mumbai.
Raghuvanshi added that preliminary investigations has revealed that Singh had brought the weapons from north India.
The accused has been remanded to ATS custody till November 18. (ANI)
