Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 8 (ANI): Giving prominence to the significance of youth in politics, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said on Tuesday it is his dream to change the face of Uttar Pradesh politics.
The Congress General Secretary added that this could be achieved only if youngsters come up with a challenge and join State politics.
“There are many people here who have the same idea that politics here is of politics of past. We need to have of a politics of future and we need to build new politics for this state,” said Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi added that the doors of both the Youth Congress and the Congress party are always open for the youngsters and it would really be beneficial if bright and young people join the party.
Praising Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi said, “We have the most capable person as Prime Minister.”
Talking about the report of the Liberhan Commission on the Babri masjid demolition in Ayodhya in 1992, Rahul Gandhi said that he has great respect for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and had no idea whether the Commission has done the correct thing by naming him in the report.
“All I say is that as far as I am concerned, Vajpayeeji is a senior politician and he is a senior person. As a young person and as a person who is nowhere near the experience of Vajpayeeji in our tradition, I owe him a certain deal of respect, which I give. That’s my view on this,” said Rahul Gandhi.
