Winter session of Assam Assembly to begin on MondayJanuary 4th, 2009 - 3:59 pm ICT by ANI
Guwahati, Jan 4 (ANI): The week-long Winter Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly will begin on Monday.
There will be altogether six working days during the Session.
The House is likely to pass as many as nine Government bills including the separation of Judiciary from the executives in the two hill districts of Karbi Anglong and North Cachar, and setting up of private sector Don Bosco University in the State.
The House is expected to begin with a stormy note in view of two serial bomb blasts in the State on October 30 and January 1.
The issues of security lapses and infiltration of Jehadi elements to the State from Bangladesh may also come up for discussion during the session. (ANI)
