Will Smith reiterates hes no ScientologistSeptember 17th, 2008 - 4:56 pm ICT by ANI
Washington, Sept 17 (ANI): Will Smith has once again dismissed rumours that he belongs to the Church of Scientology.
Smith was linked to the celebrity-themed religion after a 2006 report revealing he had donated money to the churchs LEAP program (literacy and education awareness project), reports FoxNews.com.
When asked if he had become a Scientologist, Smith answered directly, I am not.
Talking about the school, which is using one of Scientology’’s teaching tools, Smith said: You can take different parts of things you like and put them all together.
Smith also mentioned talking to anti-Scientology group Anonymous, who claim to have given themselves the name in an attempt to avoid retaliation from Scientologists.
The group later said in a press release, We appreciate Will’’s interest in our efforts and his openness in speaking with us directly. It shows his concern both as a parent and educator. (ANI)
