When Polish troupe won hearts with Punjabi artistes in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, Nov.27 (ANI): A Polish folk troupe recently visited Punjab for four days to participate in a multi-cultural festival hosted in Punjab, as part of its cultural exchange programme with Poland.
Led by Director Jedlinio and Henryk, the Polish group comprising 15-members arrived on the invitation of the Punjab Cultural Promotion Council.
Dressed in the traditional costumes of their respective countries, members of the Punjabi group and Polish folk troupe won everyones heart.
The group members, most of them students, performed their folk dances and gave a reflection of their culture during the cultural event at Ramgarhia Girls College of Ludhiana.
All members of the Polish group were well-versed in the traditional dances of their region.
Powel, a male Polish dancer, said: India is a very interesting place. I can see new techniques and diverse dance performances. It’’s quite nice. I am very happy to be here.
Vileta, a female Polish dancer, said: I am here in India for the first time. It’’s a big experience for me. India is different from Poland in terms of people, culture and atmosphere, which is very interesting for us.
Davinder Singh Chinna, Director of the Punjab Cultural Promotion Council, on the occasion, said: Our mission is to invite people from around the world and let them know about the great heritage of Punjab in terms of its traditions, village life. It helps in inculcating educational and cultural exchange among the students community. Our target audience is student of Punjab to whom we wish to give information about other cultures in the world. Punjabi artists won applause for giving a lively dance performance. They also performed Gatka, the Sikh martial art.
For the Polish artists, the experience in Punjab was a special joy as they got an opportunity to understand and witness the rich culture and tradition of Punjab.
The occasion offered a perfect opportunity for students to strengthen ties, share ideas, traditions and beliefs of their respective countries and cultures. (ANI)
