Website claims Prabhakaran headed for Tamil NaduJanuary 15th, 2009 - 3:08 pm ICT by ANI
New Delhi, Jan 15 (ANI): The intense battle carried out by the Sri Lanka Army to root out the LTTE from its stronghold in the northern and eastern parts of the island nation, may force rebel supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran to flee from Sri Lanka to Tamil Nadu, according to the website politicsparty.com.
The website has claimed that they had predicted one year ago that the Sri Lankan Army would capture him, kill him or exile him to end the existence of Prabhakaran.
In the last two weeks, the military has seized two major strategic targets, the rebels” self-proclaimed capital of Kilinochchi and Elephant Pass, which puts the entire Jaffna Peninsula under their control for the first time since 2000.
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan High Commissioner in India R Jaisinghe has said that India’’s request for the extradition of Prabhakaran to stand trial in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi could be seriously looked into.
An Indian court convicted Prabhakaran of masterminding Rajiv’’s assassination and India formally requested for his extradition. India also banned the LTTE the militant organisation he leads. (ANI)
