Chennai, May 31 (ANI): A new and major attraction at the Kishkinta Amusement Park in Chennai is the Water Volcano which has turned out to be a great stress buster for visitors during the summer.

The Water Volcano is a water show in which five-lakh litres of water gushes up in just five seconds like a Tsunami wave.

There is an almost never-ending stream of visitors, to see this startling show.

Kishkinta also has other attractions like the White Water, the Wave Pool and the Water Dingy Ride which tosses one from the dingy into the nearby woods.

Initially, the organisers hosted a show with bubbling water and gentle sea waves which lasted for seven minutes and people termed it thrilling.

Later, this was re-programmed to have five lakh liters of water gushing out within five seconds.

“The water volcano show is a huge pool which has a capacity of 10 lakh litres out of which we pump five lakh litres. This five lash litres is suddenly released in five seconds which makes the remaining water to create Tsunami like wave,” said Jose Punnose, Managing Director, Navodaya Mass Entertainments.

A visitor, Karuna said: “This is a great place for tourists and I’m enjoying this with my family. I heard they are making a water volcano and I was thrilled to be here. It is a great effort and the engineers have done a great job.”

Kishkinta is a brain-child of M.C.Punnoose fondly addressed as Appachan. He is also the founder of Navodaya Mass Entertainments that produced the first 3-D movie in India My Dear Kuttichathan (later dubbed as Chota Chettan in Hindi), which bagged the President’s Gold Medal in 1984.
