Vice President greets nation on Ugadi, Gudi Padava
March 26th, 2009 - 4:44 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Mar 26 (ANI): Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari on Thursday greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Chaitra Sukhladi and Cheti Chand.
“I extend my good wishes to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Chaitra Sukhladi and Cheti Chand celebrated with traditional fervour and zest,” Ansari said.
The Vice President said such festivals are celebrated in diverse ways with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm in several parts of the country as the beginning of traditional New Year.
He further said these festivals strengthened social harmony and goodwill.
“The colourful festivities associated with these festivals reflect the myriad hues of our rich cultural heritage and contribute towards strengthening social harmony and goodwill,” he added. (ANI)
