New Delhi, Feb 19 (ANI): Doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) , who are attending to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on Thursday, said his condition was improving.
A medical bulletin issued by the hospital said Vajpayee is in the ICU and his condition is stable. His chest infection has subsided.
Vajpayee’’s vital parameters are normal, the bulletin said.
His ventilator support, put since February 6, has been removed, and he is breathing on his own.
Vajpayee, after undergoing a tracheotomy surgery for smoother airway management was kept on a minimal ventilator support on February 13.
The 84-year-old BJP leader was admitted to the AIIMS on February 3 with complaints of fever and chest congestion. It was later diagnosed that he was suffering from respiratory tract infection. (ANI)
