Chennai. Mar.23 (ANI): Regional Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDKM) Party leader V. Gopalswamy (Vaiko), on Tuesday, immersed the ashes of Parvati Pillai, mother of slain Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) chief Prabhakaran, in Chennai.

Parvati Pillai had died on February 20.

Vaiko said: “It is in these historic (Marina) beach waves, that we immerse the ashes of our beloved mother. O! Mother, O! Mother, the traitors had prevented you to come to this land. But today, millions and millions of people have come to pay tribute to you.”

” Nobody can separate you from us, not even the ocean. The same is the case of inseparability of the Tamil Eelam and today, on this auspicious day, we reaffirm our determination for the Tamil Eelam,” he added.
Vaiko had earlier been arrested for protesting against the alleged disrespect by Sri Lankan government to the mortal remains of Parvati Pillai after it was reported that the ground where she was cremated, had been desecrated in Sri Lanka. (ANI)
