Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh), July 27 (ANI): Showcasing a unique example of philanthrophy, a eunuch, who in Uttar Pradesh is running a Madrassa (Islamic school) to impart education to poor children here.
Being a eunuch, Sadhna alias Noor Mohammad has been earning her daily bread by dancing at social functions and singing to amuse the audience. But by running a school, Sadhna is trying to fill the void that was created by poverty in poor childrens lives.
Concerned about the poor childrens future, Sadhna (40), set up the Madrassa named Gosia Waris Uloom here where the children are not only imparted quality education by able teachers but also given nutritious food.
Sadhna has allocated four rooms of her house for these children to study.
Had it not been for Sadhna’’s efforts, these children would have grown up to worry about their next meal or roam around as vagabonds.
There are as many as 48 children studying at this Madrassa. They are taught in basic education to strengthen their basic academic foundation.
At the Madrassa, specially trained teachers teach the students a range of subjects including English, Hindi, and science among others.
“We will provide them with every possible education and make them study Hindi, Arabic, English, Urdu, almost every thing,” said Sadhna, founder of Gosia Waris Uloom Madrassa in Sitapur.
“These children will go and reach out to places where there is no education facility. They will teach other children and help in spreading awareness regarding vital education, which otherwise is ignored,” said Mohammed Irfan, a teacher of Gosia Waris Uloom Madarsa.
Besides, Sadhna has also arranged for children with free and hygienic meal so that they could have better concentration upon their studies.
Sadhna today enjoys the support of people from all strata of society, irrespective of their religious identities.
Meanwhile, the students have high regard for Sadhnas endeavour for their future. They wish to repay Sadhna and her Gosia Waris Uloom Madarsa by educating other children when they grow up.
“It feels really nice studying here. We are having all kinds of comforts and are at a good place. Even though I have studied at various other places as well, but I have not found an environment like this anywhere,” said Shoaib, one of the students.
Children from Behraich, Faizabad, Barabanki and Lucknow come to this Madarsa to study.
All students here view Sadhna as their role model. (ANI)
