US drones seen flying over Pak tribal areas of Bannu, WaziristanNovember 22nd, 2008 - 2:36 pm ICT by ANI
Lahore, Nov 22 (ANI): Suspected US drones have reportedly violated Pakistani airspace again, as they were seen flying over various areas of North and South Waziristan agencies, a private TV channel claimed.
According to the channel, the US spy planes made low flights over Razmak, Makain and Ladha areas of the two tribal agencies.
However, they returned to Afghanistan after tribesmen fired at them.
US drones also made flights over Bannu Frontier Region, creating panic among the locals, the Daily Times reported.
Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary General Ban ki-Moon has voiced his concern over the United States cross-border attacks on suspected Taliban targets inside Pakistani territory.
Six people were killed in a suspected US drone strike in Bannu district on Tuesday night.
Al Qaeda terrorist Abdullah Azam Al-Saudi was believed killed in the US missile attack, the first outside the Tribal Areas of Pakistan, the Daily Times reported.
The secretary general is concerned, his spokeswoman Michele Montas said, when asked to clarify media reports that quoted her as saying that the latest US strike was a bilateral issue between US and Pakistan.
Montas said what she had said on Thursday when her attention was drawn to the strike deep inside Pakistani territory was that she would not comment as Pakistan had taken up the matter with the US bilaterally. (ANI)
