US-based IT firm’’s CEO attacked in Noida
September 28th, 2008 - 12:40 am ICT by ANI Noida, Sept 27 (ANI): The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a US-based software firm in Noida was on Saturday dragged out of his car and viciously attacked, only four days after the CEO of an Italian firm in Greater Noida was lynched to death by workers.
On Friday, Kashir Dwivedi, 37, the CEO of Expedience e-solutions India Limited, was waylaid night on a road in Noida, while he drove his car to a Sai Baba temple.
The company he heads has its global headquarters at Houston, Texas (US).
“I had left my office in Noida Sector 63 around 9.30 p.m. Four men in a Tavera overtook my car (a Honda Civic) and parked in such a way that my vehicle got trapped. They tried to open my doors. Since they had been automatically locked, they brought out an iron rod from their car, smashed open the window and dragged me out on the road,” said Dwivedi.
“They tried to pick me up like a sack of potatoes and push me inside their car,” Dwivedi said, and added, “I resisted and kept rolling on the road to avoid them, shouting for help.”
The commotion assembled a crowd so the men fled, said Dwivedi. But before leaving one of the assailants hit him on his head with an iron rod and he lost consciousness.
On regaining sense he called his wife who rushed to the spot and took him to the Kailash hospital nearby.
Dwivedi was under observation in the hospital through the night and discharged on Saturday.
