Underprivileged kids enjoy tete-a-tete with world wrestling champ ‘Khali the great

Mumbai, May 9 (ANI): Indian World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star ‘The great Khali’ on Friday met underprivileged children in Mumbai.

On his arrival in Mumbai, Khali met children from Door Step School, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) working towards providing sustainable education to underprivileged children.

Children waiting to have a glimpse of the Great Khali enjoyed their tete-a-tete.

Khali advised the children to follow the game but not to try any stunts at home.

He added that children who want to excel in sports must be provided with support so that they earn name for the country.

Khali expressing his gratitude for the love and affection showered on him said he would do the best for his country.

“I am immensely grateful to the media and especially to the people of my State. So much has happened in my life and I have received tremendous affection. I will try to do everything for that can possibly be done for the country,” said Khali.

Children filled with zest participated in a drawing competition, where they were asked to make sketches of their favourite WWE star.

They posed several questions to Khali and thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with their favourite idol.

“We had a very enjoyable time with Khali. I saw him in person for the first time. He is actually huge and impressive,” said Nimisha, a child.

It was a day out for children who enjoyed every minute of their meeting with Khali and clicked photographs with their star.

Khali has been a WWE world heavyweight champion and has fought all top wrestlers in the WWE circuit, including the ‘Undertaker’ several times.

Khali, 35, the tallest WWE wrestler is 7 feet 3 inches and weighs 190 kg. He took to bodybuilding and won the Mr. India title in 1995 and 1996.

He worked as a porter before joining the state police in Punjab. He is now a sub-inspector in the police force and is on long leave to continue the fight in WWE.

The fighter, who, lives in Atlanta, has worked in a Hollywood movie ‘The longest yard’ and will make a debut in a Bollywood children’s adventure film ‘Ramma-The Saviour’. (ANI)
