Uma Kant Mishra takes over as Principal Director General, Press Information Bureau

New Delhi, Dec 5 (ANI): Uma Kant Mishra, a senior Indian Information Service (IIS) officer, has been appointed as Principal Director General (Media and Communications) in the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
Mishra comes in place of Deepak Sandhu, who took over as media advisor to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday
Mishra will hold additional charge as Director General, Directorate of Advertising Visual Publicity (DAVP).
The 1972 batch selection grade officer, Mishra has been the Director of the Publications Division, the Director General News Services Division of the All India Radio and the head of the Indian Institute of Mass Communications at Dehnkanal, Orissa. He also held appointments of Director of Public Relations of the Ministry of Defence and Railways. (ANI)
