ULFA chief, 10 others handed over to BSF
December 4th, 2009 - 2:09 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Dawki (Meghalaya), Dec 4 (ANI): United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) founding member and chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa was today morning handed over to the Border Security Officials (BSF) by Bangladeshi security agencies at the Meghalaya border.
According to news agency reports, Rajkhowa was handed along with 10 others, including his wife and two children. All of them have been brought to Guwahati for the completion of legal formalities.
Arabinda Rajkhowa had earlier expressed his desire to hold talks with the center. He was in talks about the modalities of negotiations with the intelligence agencies.
In response, the center had said that they would be a given a safe passage.
Meanwhile, ULFA commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah has disagreed with Rajkhowa’s initiatives for peace. (ANI)
