New Delhi, Jan 19 (ANI): United Kingdom Business Secretary Vince Cable met Commerce Minister Anand Sharma for the Joint Economic and Trade Committee meeting here on Wednesday.
Cable is leading a business delegation of about 50 companies to boost and strengthen trade and business ties between the two countries.
He is scheduled to meet Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee at the first meeting of the British-India Infrastructure Group and also meet Road Transport and Highways Minister Kamal Nath.
The visit follows on from the mission led by Prime Minister David Cameron in July last year.
Britain is focusing on infrastructure development and investment.
UK-India trade in 2008/09 stood at 12.5 billion dollars, a sum tinier than what Britain trades with Ireland, a country with four million people to India’s 1.2 billion. (ANI)
