Two ULFA militants killed in Assam
August 17th, 2010 - 5:29 pm ICT by ANIGuwahati, Aug 17 (ANI) Two United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) militants were killed in a gun battle with the security forces in Assam’s Goalpara District on Monday.
Based on specific inputs about the presence of two ULFA militants in the area, army and police commandos raided the area and soon there was a massive gunfight between the two sides.
The ULFA militants were killed after nearly an hour long gun battle.
“Both of them were involved in the Jul 30 bombing of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) bus in the same district in which CRPF were killed and 40 injured,” a police official said.
A large amount of weapons including pistols, grenades and explosives, were recovered from them. (ANI)
