Two suspected militants arrested in Kolkata
November 14th, 2009 - 11:18 pm ICT by ANIKolkata, Nov.14 (ANI): Kolkata city police on Saturday arrested two alleged militants from Palpakuria in the Kazi Para area of Barasat locality and also recovered some ammunition from them.
Acting on a tip off that two militants were residing in the disguise of shawl sellers, police cordoned off a locality and arrested the duo who are stated to be Kashmiri.
The suspects were identified as Kader Ahmed Bhatt and Ramesh Sambhu. Police produced the two in Barasat court which sent them into to six days of police custody.
“Police personnel got information from the secret source that the two persons were living in the house located in 24-Parganas District. The police party raided the house and arrested the suspects, Kader Ahmed Bhatt and Ramesh Sambhu and from their possession ammunition was recovered. They were produced before the court today,” said Barun Kumar Debnath, an advocate. (ANI)
