Two Maoists killed in Orissa encounter
January 12th, 2011 - 5:13 pm ICT by ANIKeonjhar, Jan 12 (ANI): Security forces gunned down two Maoists in a fierce encounter in a forested and hilly area of Orissa’s Keonjhar District on Wednesday.
According to reports, the encounter took place after Special Operations Group personnel and the police raided the Pancham hills in Rebana-Palaspal forest in Daitary area, about 60 kilometers from here.
The security personnel after the encounter, which lasted for around seven hours, recovered the bodies of the ultras
An extensive search is being made in the forest to ascertain if there were more bodies or injured Maoists. (ANI)
