Two infiltrators killed in Kashmir
October 30th, 2009 - 1:54 pm ICT by IANSSrinagar, Oct 30 (IANS) Two separatist guerrillas were killed Friday when the army foiled an infiltration bid across the Line of Control (LoC) that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan, officials here said.
“Two terrorists have been killed in an ongoing operation in north Kashmir’s Tangdhar sector of the LoC where a group of heavily armed infiltrators tried to sneak into the valley Friday,” a spokesperson of the army told IANS here.
The identity of the slain guerrillas is yet to be established, he added.
The gunfight between the guerrillas and the security forces is still on in the densely forested area of Tangdhar in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, about 70 km from Srinagar.
