May 2nd, 2010 - 12:07 pm ICT by ANIAllahabad, May 2 (ANI): Two people were arrested in the Ghoorpur area of Allahabad with 800 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, 1900 detonators and fuse wire on Saturday.
The explosives were being moved secretly along some construction sites in the area.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Allahabad) B B Sharma said police had recovered eight quintals of ammonium nitrate and 1900 detonators that were bought illegally from Satna district in Madhya Pradesh.
” Prime facie, there seems to be a motive to sell these explosives to people who are engaged in illegal mining activity in this area,” Sharma said. (ANI)
