TRS politburo has asked party chief KCR to end hunger strike: KCR’s son

Hyderabad, Dec.9 (ANI): Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TSR) leader and K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s son K.Rama Rao on Wednesday evening said that the party’s politburo has asked the party’s chief to end his hunger strike.
“Politburo has asked the TRS President KCR to end his hunger strike,” K. Rama Rao said to media in Hyderabad.
Interacting with media on Wednesday evening here Rao said that the party is witnessing a revolution and hopes for a breakthrough from the meet being held at Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s residence.
“We are witnessing a revolution,” said Rao.
On the ongoing meeting in New Delhi at Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s residence on Wednesday evening, Rao said: “We are expecting a breakthrough.”
Rao also informed that the politbureau has asked the local students to maintain peace.
Meanwhile, in New Delhi, a high-level meet over the Telangana issue has been convened at 10, Janpath, the residence of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and reportedly being attended by Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, and Union Minister for Law and Justice Veerappa Moily.
The meet is crucial as it is likely to take a decision on the compromise formula to be offered to the KCR, who is presently on his hunger strike to declare Telangana as a separate State.
The agitation for Telangana has resulted in series of violent incidents in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and also a couple of other places in Andhra Pradesh.
Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), a regional political party, has been spearheading this agitation and its chief, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, popularly addressed as KCR is on a fast unto death for this cause. Reportedly, his condition has worsened since Wednesday morning. (ANI)
