Transgenderes models walk the ramp in Mumbai
February 14th, 2010 - 4:36 pm ICT by ANIMumbai, Feb 14 (ANI): Twenty-six models participated in the second round of a beauty contest organised here on Saturday.
Organised by Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, a known transgendered and activist, the auditions for the contest titled ‘Indian Super Queen’ took place in 10 cities.
Oozing self-confidence, the contestants swayed to the music as they walked the ramp and introduced themselves.
“I would like to give a message to the mainstream society that love us as you love your own children,” said Tripathi.
The finale of the contest, orgainsed with an aim to dispel social taboos associated with being a transgendered person in India, will be held in New Delhi on February 21. (ANI)
