Traders stike in Gurgaon, traffic on highway may be hit
October 20th, 2009 - 12:40 pm ICT by ANIGurgaon (Haryana), Oct 20 (ANI): Workers at India’s biggest automobile hubs have called for a strike on Tuesday following the death of a worker at Gurgaon-based Rico Auto.
A worker was killed in a clash at the plant of component maker Rico Auto on Sunday.
The workers alleged that the police and some unidentified men acting at the behest of Rico Auto’s management, had launched an unprovoked attack which had resulted in one death and left many others injured. Since then, workers have been on a protest.
A large number of workers are expected to join the strike called by the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC). Sixty companies operating off the Gurgaon-Manesar Highway may get affected.
Traffic on the Gurgaon-Manesar Highway is also likely to be affected by the strike. (ANI)
