Tourists flock to Gulmarg in large numbers to see season’s first snowfall
November 13th, 2009 - 9:49 pm ICT by ANISrinagar, Nov. 13 (ANI): Large number of tourists are flocking to Kashmir valley following season’s first snowfall at world famous Gulmarg and Sonamarg.
“Kashmir is beautiful. It is very cold here and we can’t leave our hotel rooms without covering our body with warm clothes,” said Seema Devi, a tourist from Uttar Pradesh.
On Friday, cold wave continued to grip Srinagar as the temperature dipped to nine degrees Celsius.
Even though the cold wave kept the locals indoors, tourists were seen enjoying the weather immensely.
Locals could be seen huddled together around fire on roads warming up themselves.
“It is a lot of fun in Kashmir during winters. A lot of tourists coming from different parts of the country and residents are enjoying the weather,” said Ghulam Hassan Noon, a local resident. (ANI)
