Torrential rains continue to lash Mumbai, disrupt traffic

Mumbai, June 10 (ANI): Torrential rains continued to lash Mumbai disrupting road traffic at certain busy intersections on the fifth consecutive day. But train services across the city were largely unaffected.

Around 65 mm of rain was recorded in the 24 hours, ending at 0830 hrs at Colaba while Santacruz , a suburb in northwest Mumbai received 62.44 mm of rain, the Met office said.

According to the met office, rain with strong winds is likely to continue during the day.

The monsoon has claimed the lives of five persons so far in various incidents.

The Eastern Express highway has recorded over 100 accidents due to rain. (ANI)
