Three Maoists arrested in Midnapore
January 4th, 2011 - 1:02 pm ICT by ANIMidnapore, Jan 4 (ANI): Three Maoists were arrested from West Bengal’s West Midnapore district on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, the security forces raided the village and arrested Mangal Mahato, Gopal Mahato and Jagadish Mahato
The police also recovered two rifles, cartridges and Maoist literature from the apprehended ultras.
Police have launched an inquiry into current Maoist activities in the state’s radical hotbeds of West Midnapore, Bankura, and Purulia districts, ahead of next year’s Assembly elections. (ANI)
