Three Maoists and a policeman killed in Gumla encounter
October 21st, 2010 - 8:34 pm ICT by ANIGumla, Oct 21 (ANI): A policeman lost his life, while three other Maoists were killed in an encounter between Maoists and the police personnel in Jharkhand’s Gumla District on Thursday.
Gumla Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar Singh said the police officials recovered the corpse of Constable Phalinder Mishra, a resident of Bihar, in a field.
“Only he (Mishra) was missing, but we got his body now. He fought with them with great courage till three kilometers in the field. After exchanging fire with the Maoists till three kilometers he got shot in his leg, and later died,” said Narendra Kumar Singh.
“We got this information that three Naxals were shot dead during the battle, along with our martyr policeman,” he added. (ANI)
