The Simpsons claims 10th Emmy award

London, Sept 15 (ANI): Animated comedy The Simpsons has once again claimed one of US TV’’s most honourable prizes at the Emmy Awards for the 10th time.

It marked the 10th time that The Simpsons was named best half-hour animated show, reports BBC.

The ceremony, which was held in Los Angeles, serves as a prelude to the higher-profile Primetime Emmys on September 21.

Historical mini-series John Adams, about the second US president, clinched eight awards in the ceremony.

Mad Men, the critically acclaimed new TV drama, triumphed in four award categories, including best cinematography for an hour long series.

Comedian Sarah Silverman and four co-writers shared the prize for best original music and lyrics for a song about Matt Damon, that became an Internet sensation.

Former Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon was named best guest actress for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

TV veteran Tim Conway claimed an Emmy award for playing an old-time star on 30 Rock.

Kathryn Joosten won her second award for her recurring role as Karen McCluskey on Desperate Housewives. (ANI)
