The Script tops UK album chart

London, Aug 18 (ANI): Irish band The Script have knocked Swedish supergroup Abba’’s greatest hits collection off the top of the UK album charts.

Abba, who first became big in the 1970s, enjoyed two weeks at the top after their album Gold became a big hit again thanks to the film Mamma Mia!

Not only have The Script scooped the top spot in the album charts - their single has entered the top ten, reports BBC.

However, the top spot in that chart is still being taken by American singer Katy Perry with her single I Kissed A Girl.

In the albums chart, dropping down one place from two to three was Welsh singer Duffy and her album Rockferry.

Coldplay landed the fourth spot with ”Viva La Vida” while folk band Noah and the Whale were a new entry at five with Peaceful the World Lays Me Down.

UK top five albums:

1. The Script: ”The Script”
2. ”Abba: Gold - Greatest Hits”
3. Duffy: ”Rockferry”
4. Coldplay: ”Viva La Vida”
5. Noah & The Whale: ”Peaceful The World Lays Me Down”
