London, Dec 7 (ANI): They might have split almost 40 years ago, but the Beatles raked in more moolah in the past year than Madonna and Kanye West.
Along with the estates of the two dead members of the band, the two surviving members of the Fab Four received 35.1million pounds in dividends from Apple Corps, the company that represents the pop legends commercial interests.
The four parties Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the estates of John Len-non and George Harrison are the main shareholders in the company that has managed the Beatles interests since the 1960s, reports Times Online.
According to figures compiled by Forbes, the American magazine that tracks celebrity wealth, Madonna earned 40 million dollars in the year to June 2008. West raked in 30million dollars.
Beatles interests were boosted by the success of a stage show in Las Vegas, Love, in which the Cirque du Soleil troupe perform to the soundtrack of some of their best-known songs.
The demand for their albums still continues, which are not legally available for download on websites such as iTunes. (ANI)
