Telangana youth commits suicide in Hyderabad

Telangana Hyderabad, Jan 7 (ANI): Upset over the delay in the formation of theseparate Telangana state, a youth reportedly committed suicide here onWednesday.Bhooma Reddy, 24, a native of Adilabad district, who was pursuing amultimedia computer course in Hyderabad, was found hanging on theceiling fan at his room.”He was in his room in the night and he committed suicide by hangingto the fan. When owner came and told us, we broke the door and sawthat he had hanged himself. We found a suicide note in his pocket thatsaid that for Telangana I am committing suicide.We will send the body for post-mortem and we will inform his parentsas well,” said A. Balakoti, Inspector General of Police, Hyderabad.The Police Official added that the suicide note appealed to thecentral government to immediately form Telangana or else more studentswould give up their life for the cause.On Tuesday a meeting of eight major political parties of AndhraPradesh, convened by Home Minister P Chidambaram in New Delhi, toresolve differences over the demand for carving out a separate stateof Telangana, ended inconclusively.An Anti-Telangana delegation of Congress party from Andhra Pradeshstate also met Chidambaram.Chidambaram announced on December 9 that the process to carveTelangana state out of Andhra Pradesh, home to several majorinternational companies, would be initiated.Pro-Telangana activists have been agitating since December 23 afterthe central government went slow on its promise of creating a newstate.The agitation for Telangana has resulted in series of violentincidents in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and someother places in Andhra Pradesh.
